Yes. Police Health Gold Hospital and Gold Combined cover include hospital treatment for cancer, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy, subject to waiting periods and other terms and conditions. 

Yes. Members with Gold Hospital or Gold Combined cover can receive covered cancer treatment as a private patient in a private hospital. 

Private health insurance may allow you to choose your doctor, access treatment in a private hospital and potentially reduce out-of-pocket medical costs through schemes such as Access Gap Cover.* 

Yes. Police Health members can choose their treating specialist, oncologist or surgeon, provided they are recognised by Police Health.* 

Yes. Police Health has agreements with around 500 private hospitals across Australia, giving members a wide range of options when planning their treatment.* 

Not always. Depending on your treatment and doctors' fees, there may still be out-of-pocket expenses. It's important to ask your specialist and hospital for informed financial consent before treatment.
