Federal Government introduced Lifetime Health Cover to encourage you
to take out private hospital cover as early in your life as possible.
It rewards you with lower premiums for maintaining your cover. If you don't have hospital cover by the 30th June following your 31st birthday, your premiums will be 2% dearer for the hospital cover you eventually  choose for each year you're over 30. For example:
