SureCover Extras gives you an extensive range of all the most valued extra benefits you'll need. The detail in the following table demonstrates that, for the majority of extras services, Police Health will pay 80% of the cost of services provided by recognised providers.
The generous maximums shown here are calendar year allowances per person unless stated otherwise. On many of these annual limits we’ll actually give you up to 2 years in which to use them. We call this our Rollover Benefit.
Recognised Health Providers
Recognised health providers are those who are in private practice in Australia and recognised by Police Health.
We only pay benefits for services by these providers.
If you wish to ensure that your provider is covered by Police Health please contact us prior to treatment.

Police Health’s Rollover Benefit will see members able to carry unused portions of their extras cover into the next calendar year.
Effectively the Rollover Benefit scheme increases the maximum benefits you can claim in a year by giving you access to many unused maximums remaining from the previous year. Claims are always paid from the relevant annual maximum before accessing your Rollover Benefit.
The combined Rollover Benefit and the annual maximum are shown as the “Rollover Maximum” in the tables further down the page.
Click here for more information on the Rollover Benefit scheme.
NOTE - to provide
equity for all members, the following claim restrictions may apply:
Limits may apply
to some specific extras services relating to their frequency of
use, or to the way they are combined with other services. However,
this affects very few members because Police Health's restrictions
are often far less onerous than those of many other funds. Contact
us if you have any doubts.
Generally health
funds have benefit limits for individual services based on what
they see as their average charge. Police Health goes further, recognising
charges up to 10% higher than the calculated average, thus ensuring
the vast majority of members do receive a true 80% rebate. If your charges are more than 10% above Police Health’s average fee, the benefit you receive will be less than 80% of your cost.
Our 80% benefit
applies to the net amount payable on any account, inclusive of any
discounts the provider might be offering at the time.
