Police Health
was originally created exclusively for the benefit of South Australian
police employees and their families back in 1935. It is the only
police-based fund in Australia and, because it is a not-for-profit
fund operating for the benefit of police and their families, it maintains
a single-minded focus on meeting your needs.
Police Health
has built an excellent reputation for providing very high quality,
value-for-money private health cover. A measure of its stature within
the South Australian police community is that around 90% of the
State's serving police officers are members. The Fund is very stable
because, once they choose to become members, police rarely leave
it.
Over the past few years Police Health has extended it’s range of services by offering exclusive cover to police personnel in the Northern Territory (Dec 01), Queensland (Aug 03), Western Australia (Nov 05) and Tasmania (Mar 07). In a very short time Police Health has gained high acceptance in these states and continues to grow.
The Fund is
managed by a small team of health insurance professionals with vast
experience in the private health insurance industry. This team works
under the direction of its own Board of Directors consisting mainly
of police, so the Fund is guided by people who know, understand
and care about their fellow police.
